SPoiler Alert- * George Stephanopolus doesn't belong on a GMA*
Just kidding. Sex and the City - mentions So Go away.
I"m a Sex and the City fan: not some psycho dress like Carrie Bradshaw fan - I wouldn't fit in her peep toe Manolo's if I tried. But I do enjoy the show and have very much enjoyed the movies. The one liners- are HILARIOUS and I particularly enjoyed the last movie because it was simply about the "fierceness of friendship. "
This movie- was about finding a sense of your self amidst the " noise" of life, commitments and obligations. Finding your place : once you acquire all that you've wished and dreamed for. A place I find myself daily. Once you have all that you wished for - the fairytale wishing ends. You find yourself standing knee deep in it - wondering ... what now?
The most incredible moments in the movie : to me were the moments when Charlotte locked herself in the pantry -crying while her kids screamed on the other side.
I cried with her.
Miranda and Charlotte later have a heart to heart about being mothers. Miranda lets Charlotte know that it's OKAY - to feel the way she feels It results in this statement" BEING A MOTHER is hard work - and I HAVE HELP. "
How the fuck do people do this without help???
Then they "cheers" to moms who do it without help.
So I too join in and " cheers" you.
To all the moms who do this.
To all the moms who cry in the closet
To all the moms who do it without help.
To all the moms who do it with help.
To all the moms who feel bad saying " I'm going to GO FUCKING CRAZY!"
To all the moms who say , This isn't enough. I need more.
To all the moms not afraid to say those things.
To all the moms afraid to say those things.
To all of you.
This shit is hard.
But you all make it easier.
I"m here to tell you " it's okay."
I'll be your Miranda. :)

I can't wait to go see SATC2. I like your 'cheers' to all moms. We should stick together even if we don't always see eye to eye.
I used to cry in my bathroom when my twins were small! I could relate!
I saw the movie with my gal pals the night it opened. Fantasy, great clothes, and my favorite part was Miranda and Charlotte's conversation. Too many women do not want to admit that motherhood is hard-it is not a P and G commercial of happy babies and clean laundry!
Aw, I love this!
Being a mom is so freaking hard.
I lock myself in the bathroom....
Aww I love this & cant wait to see the movie.. my laundry room is my crying place i mean what else is it used for, sure as hell not laundry LMAO!
I went to see it on Friday and I felt the same way you did! Many reviewers said that it was NOT exciting but the reality is that real life is NOT usually exciting with obligations, kids, etc! I loved how even Samantha did not go out with the hot Aussie when he first asked her because it was "girls night"!
Being a mom IS hard! In the shower is my hiding place. Sticking together is how we can make it through those bad days.
I'll only let you be my Miranda if you dye your hair that weird Orange. Shoot I don't even go in the closet to cry, I sit right here with the kid and Meltdown with him. He usually stops and looks at me crazy and I get a lil embarrassed being judged by a toddler and we move on!
Supah have a great day!! Hug the lil ones soon!! Package coming soon, we are leaving to San Francisco Thursday gonna pick up a few things!
oops i mean "hug the lil ones for me" but soon works too!
I lock my self and hide in the bathroom... thanks for the "cheers".... cheers for you too supah..
Saw it on Friday and loved it - It just feels like being with my 4 bff's and I'm the 5th friend to round out the group!
This movie was more about what happens now but it was so real in terms of that is how life is!
I'm actually seeing it again on Weds ...that was my planned day to see it with my friends but hubby surprised me for our day together to celebrate our anniversary so I had no idea - but I loved it so much I'll see it again!
I loved this post!!! Because as I am reading this I am having a fuckin nuts month....ya know the kind where you snap at the lamest and smallest things...glad to hear some positive things about the movie I have been hearing mixed things but crap I am seeing it because Sex and the city rocks!!!
Thanks... it's all true
this shit is hard
and I need more (but not more kids!)
and I need help & I do it without help
and I want a room to cry in
and you make it easier just by being here <3
Amen! The movie was great and to all the mom's I salute you!!
I went and saw this with my mom on Saturday. Loved the movie, especially the parts you highlighted. I think the first was funnier, but the points you mentioned really made this one.
I cannot wait to see this movie!
Moms do have it hard...labor...stretch marks..babies puking everywhere...toddlers pooping everywhere...enough said.
This post was very insightful!!!
Awe, I can't wait to go see this even more now!
I totally have "closet" moments everyday. Today Sophia wouldn't stop pulling on the dogs ears, and then the dog would turn and snap at her. So the dog was growling and Sophie was crying and, well, admittedly, I was blogging, and I took them both to their separate rooms, closed their doors, and let them whine. *sigh*
There's my confession for the day. I'm going to hold you to this Miranda thing and expect you to be supportive now. :)
And did I mention you got an award love? http://www.thewifeyblogs.com/2010/05/got-love.html
Amen Sista! Being a mom is a mixed blessing. Some days it's a "f u" kinda day and other's you can't spend enough time with the family. Thank you for putting it out there that it's OKAY to be hiding in the closest and yelling FFFFFFFFF - UUU! This mom of twin 8 yr girls & 2 boys 12 & 10 says, plz slip me a Cosmo in the car b/c that's where I'm hiding. Why? B/c I don't drink 'n drive so I can't run away! Cheers to all the women out there!
Oh my I loved your post. Being a stay at home Mom is the hardest job I have ever done. The work is never done! I also know it's a very important job to do as I'm raising the future and they only stay little so long.
Great post!
Oh, I need to go and see this movie. Too bad I'll have to wait and Redbox it, because I'm homebound. I love S and C, too, (don't tell anyone) and I love the movies because they just make you feel good, more empowered, and that someone out there in the universe, yes, although she is 50 lbs lighter than you and dressed a million time better than you, GETS IT. Gets how crappy life can be at times, and the emotions we all go through as women, but are often too ashamed to admit. There's a reason this show is such a hit :)
Loved your post.
What the!!! I thought we were going to see this together!!! BOooooo
So well put! I totally loved that scene so much! I usually can't stand Miranda, but this time, she was actually supportive and compassionate.
Great post!
OMG!!! I can't wait to see this movie! I too, am a huge fan of the show and first movie!!
What a great post!! I've cried in the closet too.
I'm just waiting for Hubby to come back from his trip, so I can leave him the baby and have me a good me time!!! :D
I can't wait to see the movie.
My BFF and my sis just planned a girl weekend gateaway which includes the movie.
I'm so glad you liked the movie for what it was...a movie!
I am over it with people saying its offensive and there was no plot!
I loved the homage to motherhood!
I am horrible I have never really watched that show.....Ok honestly I hardly watch anything on tv these days.
I cry anywhere I darn well please because there is no holding it back I am a cry baby!!!....lol
Great post!
