Having a sister is good stuff. My sis is my Nenny. Our "Aunt Jenny "in kid talk. Two years younger and 45 years wiser than I. My biggest fan and my arch nemisis all in one breath. She is such a piece of me that there are not words to describe accurately. My hope is that my girls experience the awesome-ness that is having a strong relationship with your sibling. For now... they hiss and fight like .. well... like Nenny and I used to do . We're on the right path I think.

Oh, gawd! I hope my girls develop into life long friends like that. They are 17 1/2 months apart and 18 and 20 years old. Most days they get along just fine, however if they fight it lasts a long, long time. Much longer than I am willing to put up with from two "grown" people. Little shits, I wish I could just dump them out and make them depend on each other. It would be good for them.
By the way I am tickled to be visiting you. I've been hearing about you for some time from other bloggy buddies and I guess I was just waiting to stop by. I don't know why. No. Really. I don't. I SWEAR. OK!? Oops, was my dysfunctionalness showing through?

My sister were never and will never be close. I hope my children have much better relationships than we do and I try to foster that in them.

I got a sister when I was 12 and she was 5. I was so proud! I always wanted one. She lives about 4 hours away and we don't see each other that often but I still love her to death.
My girls fought like crazy when they were little!
That's awesome you have a great relationship with your sister.
My brother is 10 years younger. We're close but it's a different kind of bond. My own kids fight like there's no tomorrow but I hope they continue to have a close relationship. When they're not trying to kill each other that is!

I hope my kids are close as adults too. My brother & I aren't. But all my friends are close to their siblings. I had my kids close together for this main thing.
