Sundays With Jaden: weekly update

I'll do this every Sunday - AND AS NEEDED for the gazillions of you following his story: so keep coming back.

For those of you unaware of this tough little man, you will first need to read his story here. ( click those words) I must preface your journey to reading that story with two reminders;

* I didn't initially have any info this morning for you but Grammie was able to take a break and fill me on on Jaden's happenings!  Here's her email that I wanted to share with you !  It REALLY puts into perspective what Jaden and his family are going through.

Sorry for the delay.  I just got home and got your email.  If you didn't get the news on FB, Jaden is doing very much better.  He is finally eating pudding pops and drinking water.  Weeks since we have seen that action.  PT had wanted him to walk in the hall, but he kept insisting "maybe later"..  Last night after Julie and Joe exited (to attend a fundraiser) much to Jaden's dismay, he wanted to find his mommy.  I told him that maybe we could walk down the hall to look for her.  He thought it was a good idea.  His legs were very wobbly, but he was on a mission.  After we walked up and down the 2 hallways and checked out the huge picture window, we ended up in the play room.  He was able to remove his "double" mask 'cause no one else was in there.  We sat down for some serious playing.  When he realized that he had to make a "potty" break I thought we were done, but he insisted on going back to the playroom.  It was an immense blessing to watch him smile again.  He was having fun playing.  Altho he had been playing in his room earlier in the past few days, that was non-existent by the time I got there after work.

Today is a major milestone because they unhooked his noodles and he could walk without his tree (IV pole).  The pain med is, as needed, and TPN (nutrition) would only be hooked up 12 hrs at night.  So, after more that 3 weeks, he is free to walk without any attachment.  This will encourage him to play more easily.  Eating and drinking are the major goals now, so keep those prayers coming!

Jaden will probably start his radiation treatments around the middle of February for 2 weeks.  Then 6 months of immuno-therapy should start in March,  every 21 days for a 5 day stay.

There is still a good way to go, but we are more than 1/2 way thru!

YIPEE!!  WAY TO GO JADEN!!!  KEEP UP THE WONDERFUL WORK!!!

I don't have much info on Mr. Jaden today!  No news is GOOD NEWS let's pray!  Julie's facebook status says that his counts are finally beginning to come up which means that we must've scared that White BLood Cell Fairy into visiting!

 I know that he was very very sick  again when his counts were nill.  So pray that he is on the mend and feeling better.  The poor little sweetie deserves a break as does his family !  They are still in the hospital.  ALmost a month now.  You can do it Jaden!  Go buddy go!! We're all pulling for you !

So enjoy your day , love your family and be thankful for your beautiful life in honor of Jaden!
